Almost 2,500 iron fountains run cold drinking water all day, over 200 of them in the centre. Block the spout with a finger and the water arcs up through a small hole, so you can drink without a bottle.

About 35 kiosks pour chilled water, still or sparkling, by the glass, half litre or litre. They also have USB ports to charge a phone. The Acquea app maps them.

The chef's version of the supplì, bigger and fried to order, classic with meat sauce or vegetarian. Eat it standing in the street, five minutes from Campo de' Fiori.

Monday to Saturday 12:00–15:30 and 17:00–21:30. Closed Sunday and 10–31 August.
