Worth it? Yes.Almost nobody outside Lisbon knows this place. The watch and clock room alone holds hundreds of pieces. In autumn 2026 the second floor is shut for maintenance, so you see less than usual.

Portugal's 37 national museums, monuments and palaces, including the Jerónimos cloister, Belém Tower, the Coach Museum and the National Pantheon, are free for residents of Portugal on any 52 days a year. Tourists pay full price every day, Sundays included.

Worth it? Yes.Older guides still say national museums are free on Sundays. That ended in 2024. If you are visiting from abroad, budget €18 for Jerónimos or see it from the square. The official page names the citizen card, so foreign residents should ask at the desk what else is accepted.
