Free things to do in London in the fall

Official sources checked Oct 4, 2026

September is often dry and mild, and the school holiday crowds have gone. From 1 October the Garden at 120 shuts at 6.30pm and park gates close earlier each week, down to about 4.30pm by late November. The Globe's outdoor season ends in late October. Trees turn in Hyde Park and on Hampstead Heath from mid October, and the Friday museum lates carry the evenings.
